About The
Steelgraves One of New England's most sought-after professional magicians, the phenomenal Markus Almodarr Steelgrave (formerly known simply as "Almodarr") has been wowing audiences for over 36 years, casting a spell of magic and illusion everywhere he performs. A charismatic and likeable entertainer, Markus' many personae range from Classical Magician to Wizard to Pirate to "the silly magic guy". With a wealth of experience behind him, and his early roots as a circus performer/ variety artist, he is firmly grounded in the world of versatile entertainers. Markus' genuine magical skills and friendly rapport with people of all ages make him equally at home onstage before large audiences, or at a banquet table in an intimate "close-up magic" setting. He captures the heart and mind--and tickles the funny bone!--as no other performer can do. More about Markus

For 14 years, Angelique co-owned and operated the illustrious Krackerjack Theatre Co. -- performing not only as actress but also as scenic artist, costumer, and managing director. With a background in magic that stretches back over 20 years, her skills lend themselves beautifully to the world of illusion; Angelique is the consummate "magician's assistant", as well as a capable and astute businessperson. More about Angelique
Cow (pictured above with Angelique and Markus) is one of (currently) ten magical rabbits to grace the stage with The Steelgraves. His name originated from the similarity of his coloration to that of a...well...cow. Cow (nickname "Cowabunga Dude") is a "rescue rabbit"--The Steelgraves literally rescued him from the proverbial sack-in-the-ocean fate; after a few months of TLC, he was ready to learn the business of magic and illusion, to which he adapted nicely. A handsome and healthy bunny, he weighs about 10 lbs., and is not fazed by large audiences or adoring throngs of people. Cow is a seasoned traveler and a calm, well-tempered performer who doesn't object to wearing the occasional costume (pirate, escaped convict, angel bunny, Santa Claus...). He loves to eat kale and parsley, and is a tidy housekeeper. Cow is featured in most of The Steelgraves' larger stage shows, while his step-siblings Gerbil and Petunia are the favorites of children's shows.
As professionals in the world of magical entertainment, The Steelgraves stand a
little apart
from their peers. Although vague similarities exist between their
"style" of magic and
that of others in the New England region, it is safe to say that The Steelgraves
have their own approach to magic and possess a quality that is not to be found
elsewhere. Their connection to each other and their mutual desire to
please and awe their audiences translates into an onstage dynamic that is
undeniable...hence, they are the best at what they do. Something happens
when The Steelgraves take the stage--and the audience knows from the start that
they are in for a great time. Highly in-demand performers, their
magic is regularly featured at hundreds of venues yearly... and they touch many thousands of people with their delightful illusions all year
long.
"I would like to highly recommend
Almodarr's Grand Illusion. Almodarr has performed for our annual
family lunch
three out of the past four years. Each performance has been better than the last. Almodarr is constantly changing his show
so that you never see the same show twice. His biggest strength is his ability to interact
