STAGE MAGIC

"One of the best acts we've ever had!"

Over the past 40 years, the magic of Markus (Almodarr) has been featured at countless venues nationwide.  Since 2002, magicians Markus and Angelique Steelgrave have performed their dynamic stage shows together, for hundreds of corporate, civic, family and children's events. Although a stage is best for a performance like this, it is not always necessary; the show can be performed in a banquet hall
or other location lacking a stage, as long as there's enough room to set up and perform the show.  The Steelgraves provide a full backdrop and sound system, and lighting
in some cases if necessary.  It's always best to perform indoors, but outdoor shows are also possible
under the right circumstances.

Performances usually include magic with a variety of adorable live animals, as well as other stunning magic, good-natured audience participation, and Markus' wonderful juggling.  (Fire eating is only performed under very specific circumstances--and not for children's shows.) Larger stage performances can feature from one to four "grand illusions".

"Your show was fantastic!  You were able to get kids and adults involved and laughing!
I heard only great comments about how amazed people were with your ability!
I have been pleased with your professionalism and how easy you are to work with.
You made my Guest Activities Programming look so good!  See You Again Soon!"

"All the Extended Day Program students and staff were so thrilled and quite AMAZED
with your MAGICAL performance on Thursday.  WOW!!!!!  Thank you for visiting us again."
--Wilma Gooby, Ipswich Public Schools Extended Day Program Director, Ipswich, MA

Stage performances range from a dynamic 20-minute act to a fully-staged two-hour magic and illusion extravaganza.  The shorter "act" is perfect as an opening or closing act if you have another entertainer (such as a band or musician) headlining at your event.  This type of act is also a great addition to a larger roster of variety entertainment such as for fairs, festivals, or showcases.  The Steelgraves were recently a featured act at the Cape Cod Festival of Magic in So. Yarmouth, MA, where they will be appearing again in August 2012.

The most-often-booked
magic shows run 30 to 60 minutes--ideal for corporate parties, award banquets, social events, school assemblies...just about every occasion where a splash of great entertainment would "do the trick!"  Longer performances (75-100 minutes) are perfect as full-evening features, and can be custom-tailored to be as elaborate as you need.  For fundraisers, a larger show is recommended, as patrons will have higher expectations for their ticket prices and this show is the most spectacular.  And of course the more tickets your organization sells, the more funds you raise.  (Contact us for details of our fundraiser shows.)

Markus juggles balls, clubs, axes...and does plate spinning in stage shows!
A former circus performer, Markus' amazing juggling act is often included in the stage shows:  he juggles balls, clubs, rings, axes, and does plate spinning.

"Your magic, illusions, and juggling have been getting rave reviews from not only all of the
members of our bar association who attended, but from our 'outside' guests as well!
After having seen you perform at last year's convention for the Magicians' Alliance
of Eastern States, I knew you were the illusionists that I wanted for this event.
Thank you for making our charity fundraiser such a success!"

--Jim Capobianco, Gloucester County Legal Education Association, Woodbury, NJ

Definitely not merely some pick-a-card-any-card magic show out of a suitcase, The Magic of The Steelgraves delivers a spectacular, fully-staged event...self-contained and hassle-free.  They bring everything they need:  full backdrop, complete sound system with music, and theatrical lighting (if needed, and only when not provided by the venue).  You just provide the space and an audience ready to have a great time!  The Steelgraves consistently add to their magical repertoire, so even clients who book once a year (or more) are treated to a nearly-new show each time.  Based in Southern Maine, they travel just about anywhere--however, as travel is by vehicle, long-distance engagements must be block booked, or feature a run of several shows.

With backgrounds in theatre and creative arts, theming performances is one of The Steelgraves' unique specialties.  If your event has a theme, chances are it can be worked into the performance.  Mardi Gras, Halloween, the December holidays, Easter, Luau, anniversary, whatever the special event...the staging, music, wardrobe and most of the magic reflects your theme, giving your audience even more reason to celebrate!

During the month of December, The Steelgraves also offer Visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  This is popular for daycares, corporate events, city and town celebrations, and even private home visits!  Not actually a "stage magic show", but it's something not everyone can offer.

If you're looking for first-class magical entertainment for your function, look no further than The Magic of The Steelgraves!  Performed with energy, style, humor and finesse--whether for an intimate group of 10 people or an auditorium of 1,000--it's like a little taste of Las Vegas...right in New England.

Technical requirements vary:  the larger shows require more space, more time to set up and load in, and more time to take down/load out.  If you book one of the stage magic performances, plan on anywhere from 1 1/2  to 3 hours for set-up, and 1 to 2 hours for take down.  Smaller stage shows can be set up in about an hour provided the performing location is cleared beforehand.

For every performance, a detailed Performance Agreement is sent in advance, along with a Rider outlining any specific requirements for your particular performance...so there are never any unpleasant surprises on either end.
For your next special event, contact The Steelgraves right away--they'll bring the Magic to you!

"You present a jaw-dropping show!"
