Over the past 36 years, the magic of Markus (Almodarr) Steelgrave has been featured at countless venues nationwide.  Stage magic performances are always thoughtfully crafted to best fit your particular audience, your specific occasion, and the performance space itself.  Although having a traditional stage is always best for a performance of this nature, it is not always necessary; the show can also be performed in a banquet hall or other room that lacks a stage, as long as there is enough room to set up a backdrop and to perform the desired style of show.

Indoor performances usually include a variation of The Steelgraves' lovely, award-winning dove magic routine, as well as many other segments of stunning magic, comedic audience participation, and (often) Markus' wonderful juggling.  (Fire eating is optional, and only performed upon request.) Larger performances also include from one to four "grand illusions".  (Better photos of illusions coming soon!!)  Whichever style of show you select, your audience will be
dazzled and truly ENTERTAINED!

Stage Magic performances can range from a dynamic 20-minute act to a fully-staged two-hour magic and illusion variety extravaganza.  The shorter "act" is perfect as an opening or closing act if there is another entertainer (such as a band or musician) headlining at your event.  This type of act is also a great addition to a larger roster of variety entertainment such as for fairs, festivals, or New Vaudevillian productions.

Standard stage magic shows run 30 to 60 minutes--an ideal length for company parties, award banquets, family events, school assemblies, and just about every other occasion where a splash of magical entertainment is desired.  The longer performances (75 to 100 minutes) are perfect as full-evening features, and can be custom-tailored to be as elaborate as you need.  For fundraisers, a larger show is recommended, as patrons will have higher expectations for their ticket prices and the larger show is the most spectacular...and of course the more tickets your organization sells, the more funds you raise.



Definitely not merely some pick-a-card-any-card magician armed with just a suitcase and a few "tricks", a stage magic performance by The Magic of The Steelgraves is always a spectacular, fully-staged magic event.  They consistently strive to add to and improve their magical repertoire, so even those many clients who book once a year (or more) are treated to a virtually new experience each time.  Based in Southern Maine, they travel just about anywhere-- however, as all travel is by vehicle, engagements outside New England must be block booked, or feature a run of multiple performances.

SEASONAL and THEMED STAGE SHOWS

Theming performances is one of The Steelgraves' specialties; with backgrounds in theatre and creative arts, those skills are put to work to create shows for holidays and other special occasions.  If your event has a particular theme, chances are it can be incorporated into the performance.  Mardi Gras, Halloween, the December holidays, Easter, anniversaries, whatever the special event...the stage settings, music, wardrobe and most of the magic is designed to reflect the theme, giving your audience even more reason to celebrate!

HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS, hosted by your macabre masters of mysterious magic, Baron and Baroness von Steelgrave, features eerie effects and ghoulish gallivantings.  Good clean fun, with a smidgen of silly spookiness--they may even float an audience member in the air!  Family-oriented and frighteningly delicious.  Tricks and treats galore!

"Magic of The Holidays", perennially popular December magic show; can be performed with or without large illusions.  Non-denominational, the halls are decked to fit the season, and it's great fun for everyone.  

MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS is an exciting, beautiful, and warmly humorous magical celebration--appropriate for all ages, toddlers through adults!  It's a great gift for school students just before vacation, and is also perfect for your organization's holiday party!  This show will put even the most Scrooge-like among us into a festive mood.

Please contact The Steelgraves for details of each type of show available.  Technical requirements for the stage magic shows vary according to the type of show:  the larger shows require more space, more time to set up and load in, and more time to take down/load out.  If your event features one of our stage magic performances, plan on anywhere from 1 1/2  to 3 hours for set-up, and 1 to 2 hours for take down.  Smaller stage shows can be set up in about an hour provided the performing location is cleared beforehand.
